Gorgeous collectable Royal Albert Imari Style Place Setting consisting of a Dinner Plate, Salad or Dessert Plate, and a Cup and Saucer, featuring a wide band on the rim with floral designs in Rust, Cobalt Blue and Green, touched with gilt. I am not sure what the pattern is called, it was made between 1917-1927.
The pattern is called an Imari pattern because of the color combination. Imari became overwhelmingly popular in the mid Victorian era in England as china merchants brought in luxury articles with this type of bold and bright colors from the Imari region of Japan. Swags in a matching bronze color drape below the band, with lovely medallions. Additional details of gold embellishments delineate the patterns of the rim, and accent the rims, foot, and handle.
A stunning set to give as a luxurious gift to someone you love, or to add to your own fine tea serving collection. Measures: Dinner Plate 8~5/8"; Salad Plate 6~3/4" ; Teacup 3~1/2" x 4" x 2~1/2" ; Saucer 5~1/2". In good condition, some wear on the gilt as is to be expected. Rare to find a whole set like this!
