Beautiful Faience Plates, made in the latter part of the 19th century, with a glorious Red Transferware pattern of gorgeous flowers and lacey fern fronds, perfect for the aesthetic the Victorians adored. These mix in wonderfully well with any tableware you have, white, other red transferware, black or blue too. Made in the Northern part of France, near Valenciennes, by St. Amand Nord. So wonderful to find a set of six plates, all the same design.
These were purchased in France, they were used by a French family for generations. There is wear, but no cracks, the plates are in very good antique condition. These are dinner plates, they measure 8~3/4" in diameter. {Here at home, we've started eating all our dinners off this size plate, it's amazing how much less we eat.}
